Martinovic said the company provides hourly estimates when it makes sense for a customer, such as a same-building move, because there aren't many unpredictable things that could affect the duration. Most estimates are binding, which means the customer knows the full price upfront. The estimate won't change unless the customer changes the scope of the work order during the move. If necessary, the company will incorporate a fuel surcharge for longer moves. 

A binding estimate will also include an excess weight surcharge for specialty items. If movers must navigate excessive stairs, the binding estimate will include a per-flight charge to compensate for the additional time required.

We asked about the cost of moving a two-bedroom, 900-square-foot apartment with typical furniture and 25 boxes 100 miles. Martinovic said the estimate would average about $2,400. The company requires a $50 deposit on moves under $1,499 and 10% on moves over $1,500. The deposit is fully refundable.

The company isn't BBB-accredited and currently has an F rating due to a failure to respond to two complaints.
