We called The Move Crew to get an estimate to move our three-bedroom, 1,400-square-foot house locally within St. Paul. The person who took our call was Angela, a moving consultant with the company, who was friendly and more than happy to answer all of our questions. To get the quote process started, you'll need to provide a full inventory of all the furniture and boxes that you need moved, which you can do online or over the phone. We chose to fill out the online form, and it didn't take too long. 

Our example move would cost between $1,350 and $1,850. This price range includes the hourly rate for three movers ($260 per hour), one 26-foot truck, furniture wrap, blankets, tools and protective padding for doorframes and banisters. They have a two-hour minimum for moving jobs. After the two-hour mark, you'll be charged for every 15 minutes of labor. When we called to get an estimate for a local move for our three-bedroom, 1,400-square-foot house, we spoke with Eric, a sales representative who was a member of the moving crew for a while himself. We were quoted an hourly rate of $220 per hour for a crew of three movers and a 26-foot truck, as well as a $120 travel and fuel cost.
