Click Business Name for More Information. Watts Petroleum Corp. was founded in 1936 by John A. Watts, as a commission agent for the Gulf Oil Corporation. This relationship continued until 1984 when Chevron Products Co. purchased the Gulf assets. We maintained our relationship with Chevron and expanded into the Texaco brand until 2010. At that point we partnered with Marathon Petroleum Company and the Spirit brand to supply our retail network.Over the years, Watts Petroleum increased its service area with the purchase of Paul Farmer Oil Co. in Altavista, and Creasy-Musgrove Oil Co. in Bedford. Today, we employ around 40 people and service more than 4,000 homes. Watts Petroleum is still a family run and owned business, with John A. Watts, Jr. as President, Randall J. Watts serves as Secretary-Treasurer and their son, A.
