I took courses and passed the tests to receive my inspector's license. I haven't kept it active but it gave me the knowledge of the code requirements for each part of the homes that I worked on. It also gave me firsthand experience in coordinating the efforts of all the people needed to "get the job done, on time and on budget". This experience gave me a unique knowledge of the value of a home, its location, and what increases or decreases that value.
