Named after the chef's grandmother, Gertrude's is located in the Baltimore Museum of Art. The kitchen lavishes attention on the details of each of its Maryland-style seafood dishes, making sure that each is a unique creation. The two types of crab cakes for instance are distinctly different: the Eastern Shore is traditional, made of crabmeat and little else, while the Gertie is a more modern, spicy affair. Topside
With its plush interiors, Topside is a rooftop restaurant that overlooks the Mount Vernon neighborhood. The eatery here consists of a bar right in the center which is surrounded by chairs facing the window. There is a specific section of this restaurant called The Garden Room, which is surrounded by lush green tropical plants, making it feel like a garden. The wooden decor and the seating arrangements give this place a modern upscale vibe. Topside is known for its finely curated list of craft beers that includes Thirstay (credited to Peabody Heights Brewery, one of Baltimore's earliest breweries). Other than that, the menu here is filled with recipes that use ingredients which are freshly sourced, which ensures quality. However, the best thing about Topside is its wide range of beer that can be found in thirteen taps and other containers including cans.
Loch Bar
Overlooking the Patapsco River, Loch Bar is a popular upscale restaurant which is renowned for serving one of the finest seafood in Baltimore. The wooden decor, the well-stocked bar and the golden lights in the ceiling create a very warm atmosphere inside. However, the best place to sit in this restaurant is its patio, where you can find large curved sofa seats, with some even facing the harbor. But, the major draw of Loch Bar lies in its large collection of local craft beers and whiskeys.
