Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

The first Gus's opened in Mason, TN, way back in 1953 and has since then been a huge landmark, thanks to the magic fried chicken they serves. Their Memphis is located on Front Street in Downtown and continues the tradition of serving delectable, spicy and succulent chicken. Open all week, from 11a onward, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken offers a fantastic Southern fare. There's a good selection of sides such as baked beans, cole slaw, mac and cheese and much more. The prices are delightfully low, service is great and offerings are truly worth the title - world famous!

Hog & Hominy

Hog & Hominy was lauded as one of the top five newly opened restaurants when it was launched. This place is family-owned and it shows. The service is quite good and the food served is Italian cuisine with a Southern twang. The most famous dishes on their menu are the duck sausages and the bourbon pecan curd pie. There is also a bocce court for patrons to enjoy. They only reserve half their tables and leave the rest for walk-ins, so if you feel like going out for a family dinner or enjoying a wholesome meal with friends, this is the place to head to.

Silky O'Sullivan's

If the goats, kept outside in an empty lot next door, don't get you, then the "Diver" will. The Diver is a gallon-sized drink specialty served here at Silky O'Sullivan's. Not a place to go for dinner, this place packs in the hardcore party crowd. If you're feeling brave, ask the bartender for a Fuzzy Leprechaun. This bar hosts a raucous annual St. Patrick's Day celebration each March. By the way, the goats, which are mascots for the establishment, won a permanent place in the bar only after city authorities concluded they posed no threat to public health and safety.
