Regionally inspired Mexican cuisine with an agave forward cocktail bar. We make our masa in house using heirloom Oaxacan corn, which is the backbone of our tortillas.
Sumac Cafe
Sumac Mediterranean Café is built around one simple idea: make food we’re proud to serve to our own family and friends. At the heart of Sumac is Chef Abe Risho, whose cooking brings together Mediterranean flavors, careful technique, and a deep respect for quality ingredients. Every menu item is prepared with intention, from slow-cooked meats and house-made sauces to vibrant vegetable dishes and thoughtfully crafted specials. Rather than relying on shortcuts, we focus on doing things the right way, even when it takes longer. What makes Sumac unique is that we combine a full Mediterranean kitchen with an in-house bakery. We bake our own pita, sourdough breads, flatbreads, and signature za’atar pretzel buns fresh throughout the week. The result is food that feels both familiar and distinctive, whether you’re joining us for breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee, or a quick bite downtown. We’re also committed to making our menu accessible. Alongside our traditional offerings, you’ll find a variety of gluten-free options, including both sweet and savory crepes. Most of all, Sumac is an independent local business created by people who genuinely love hospitality. We want every guest to feel welcome, whether they’re stopping in for a morning coffee, meeting friends for brunch, or discovering Mediterranean cuisine for the first time. In a world of chains and convenience, we believe great food, made from scratch and served with care, still matters.
