Arosa Cafe

George's

After migrating from Greece to pursue their dream of opening a family restaurant, George and Froni Mangouras established "George's Place" in 1976. The early years of business were centered around an evening pizza place, while later changing into more of a morning and afternoon cafe. Old country recipes were replaced with traditional breakfast dishes, pitas, and pastas that still possess a Mediterranean flare. George and Froni served traditional breakfast and lunches with quality ingredients and a Greek flare for over 30 years. This family tradition has been carried on by their son Pete and his lifelong friend Derek, with the same integrity and passion as his parents and will celebrate 37 years in August. Come for the great food, stay for the family hospitality!

Hi Spot Cafe

Spread through several floors of an old Victorian house, Hi-Spot Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to Madrona regulars and visitors from other neighborhoods. Comprised of variations on standard egg dishes, burritos and pastries, breakfast here feels like a bed-and-breakfast without the bed. The lunch menu also favors standards such as soups, sandwiches and salads, all well-prepared. The more adventurous dinner menu changes frequently, so ask for suggestions and be bold. Expect a wait on weekend mornings.
