This gem is tucked in a shopping center behind the Boulder Crossroads Mall. It has a cafe feel with free standing tables and a few booths, and a small bar area for those eating alone. The staff and fellow patrons are all friendly and are always up for good conversation. The menu is crammed with typical breakfast items such as waffles, scrambled eggs and French toast. Burgers, sandwiches, soup, salads and pasta dominate the lunch offerings.

The Sink
This funky pizza joint, The Sink, on University Hill is one of the best student budget spots in town. The fact that Robert Redford once worked as a janitor here during his short stint at CU is their claim to fame, yet celebrities and dignitaries continue to visit for the burgers, even President Obama once visited. The pizzeria stays open till late, making it popular with the college crowd. It offers three crust choices based on density. Food is made from scratch and they always feature the choice of 100 percent grass-fed beef. Sandwiches, pizzas, salads, calzones-oven baked pizza, you name it; you will find at the Sink.
Southern Sun Pub & Brewery is run by the same guys who own the Mountain Sun pub on Pearl Street where they brew the eponymous and delicious beers. There are two other pubs in addition to this one and the original; each one offers their signature eight beers on tap, the Blackberry Wheat, Old School Irish Stout, Colorado Kind Ale, XXX Pale Ale, Isadore Java Porter, Annapurna Amber, Quinn's Golden Ale, Illusion Dweller IPA and the FYIPA, respectively. They also have seasonal, wheat and some Belgian inspired beers that will knock your socks off with their high ABV content. Inside the pub, the atmosphere is very scholarly, there are no TVs and books line the shelves. All this makes for great conversation, and if you want some sun (winter excluded), the patio is a perfect place to take your pint.
