La Bonbonniere

La Bonbonniere is the last of a dying diner breed in the city, where fancier, niche restaurants consistently encroach on the old-school mom-and-pop spots. La Bonbonniere has been a fixture in the neighborhood and most locals don't even know how long its been along this quasi-quiet strip of 8th Avenue. Inside, the diner menu is filled with no-nonsense, stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts. The decor leaves much to be considered, however the homey atmosphere, linoleum floor and shaky tables are all part of the charm.

Santa Salsa

Located in the dimly lit, Over The Eight Bar bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Santa Salsa is a food truck serving up delicious Venezuelan street food. Patrons can walk up to the window of the truck that is behind the main seating area, place their order and then take a seat in the main bar. Enjoy items like the perros con todo, a special traditional hot dog, that is unlike any other you have eaten before! Pepitos, burgers, emapanadas and yuca fries are all available here, equally packed with flavorsome goodness.

Joe Jr.

Joe Jr. is a cozy spot that is popular among the city dwellers for its delicious all-beef burgers. The interiors have a homely feel with wood paneling in different shades of tan and brown, a long Formica counter and stools. But what the place misses in terms of its setting, it more than makes up for it with its burgers and vibrant atmosphere. It attracts a mixed crowd that comprises students, artists, police academy cadets and workers, all sitting together to relish a plate of eggs or one of the juicy burgers that not only feed their stomachs but also their souls.
