Shinsei, famous for its interactive sushi bar, is run by the renowned duo Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing. The contemporary restaurant was designed with a Texas flair and incorporates bright colors in green and yellow hues. With the addition of habanero mayonnaise, Maui onions, hibiscus vinegar, and jalapenos, these peppy creations add a kick to the normal sushi rolls. Land lovers have quite a few options as well with pork and beef tenderloin options and more. Finish on a sweet note and savor the cherry tart or the cake with ice cream, then wash down your meal with a cool Shinsei Sangria—a wonderful concoction of fruit flavors.
Located at the corner of Harry Hines and Royal Lane, Korea House provides excellent Korean and Chinese fare. Entrees range from the sinus-clearing, spicy, Korean Barbecue Beef, to chicken and pork. Traditional Chinese dishes such as Sweet and Sour Chicken excel. A lunch favorite, Mandu Soup consists of a rich and steamy chicken stock full of vegetables, complete with a large, wonderfully plump Korean style dumpling in every bowl. A Japanese and Chinese Sushi bar serve fresh, colorful creations that seem almost too pretty to eat.
