We serve traditional Mexican meals cooked using organic and Mexican ingredients and prepared following original recipes. We here at Fonda Santa Rosa invite you to taste not only TRUE authentic Mexican Food, but some of Mexico City's finest dishes. By honoring his family's recipes in everything from salsa to mole, David Reyes nurtures a passion for his native country's cuisine. The staff echoes this feeling in the care and attention they put into each dish. They marinate pork in a savory blend of achiote, orange, and garlic before slow-roasting it for their signature cochinita pibil. They fire-roast poblano peppers and grill tender beef for tampiqueña plates. And they spend hours on the mole sauce, which, in accordance with Reyes' grandmother's recipe, has 25 separate ingredients. Out in the dining room of the restaurant, guests sip fresh-fruit licuados and aguas frescas or indulge in BYOB amid walls of blue and yellow, and strings of colorful paper flags stretch across the ceiling. Mexican paintings, ceramics, and framed copies of Reyes family recipes speckle walls with a touch of history. You can start your day off with some delicious Chilaquiles or Molletes, get that afternoon energy with some great Chochinita Pibil, great enchiladas or Puntas Al Chipotle, and then end your day right with some heavenly seafood, a tampiqueña or our very own Molcajete Mixto!

Doña Lena started selling her delicious tacos in her hometown Salamanca Guanajuato, Mexico in 1985. She moved to the USA in the 1990’s where she continued her taco business from her home. In 2019, after many years of hard work and sacrifice her dream of having her own restaurant finally came true . People have enjoyed her authentic street tacos for many years and and now you can too.
