Louisville has almost an over-abundance of authentic Italian restaurants, which makes it all the harder to decide which one to patronize. Zucca Italian Ristorante's amazingly diverse menu doesn't bother with staples such as spaghetti and pasta alfredo, but instead focuses on specialty pizzas, stuffed vegetables and pastas with exotic sauces, and meat and side dishes cooked as they would be in Italy. Zucca's dessert menu outshines most of the local competition, as does its selection of fine wines, and the atmosphere is certainly more intimate and upscale than most. However, the prices are high, and with all of the Italian alternatives nearby, Zucca is probably best reserved for the times when you really want to impress a date or business partner.
