Started by a prominent Kansas City sculptor to help revive the Crossroads Art District, Grinders is now the premier spot for great food, art, music, and fun. Interesting daily specials include a Hungarian food night, half off Death wings, and cheap mimosas. Live music by big name bands can be seen in the field behind the bar, which doubles as a sculpture garden. More sculptures, paintings, and prints are inside to view or to buy. Other events occur year round, such as beer tastings and BBQ competitions.
This little pizzeria in South KC brings a little NYC flavor to the Midwest with its original thin, chewy crust pizzas. Inside it is quite small and there are only a few stools, however most people order pies for take-out or come in to grab a quick slice.
