The flash of a game fish in the sea, the rainbow of colors on the water's changing surface, the thrill of a huge catch -- anglers, Floridians, and appreciators of the sea's beauty alike are familiar with the dynamic, inspiring sights found in the ocean's depths. Artist Armando R. Hevia shares that passion, and since 1999 he has been channeling it into one-of-a-kind metal masterpieces. An artist, welder, and sport fisherman himself, Armando has methodically developed his stainless steel sea life sculptures to evoke the awe and beauty of their subjects. Starting with a hand-drawn design, he then cuts and grinds each metal piece to add depth and dimension. Last, controlled heat is applied to produce an array of colors on the metal's surface. The result: a completely unique piece of decor that brings the beauty of sea life into your home.
