Bert Gallery
GRIN is a contemporary art gallery located at The Plant in the historic Olneyville District of Providence, Rhode Island. It was founded in 2013 as a space for artists to develop and exhibit their work, with a steady curatorial hand. Our intent is to develop an intellectually demanding yet aesthetically pleasing program, focusing on emerging artists working across mediums. Our hope is to stimulate fresh dialogue while continuing to promote the development of the local creative community. Our mission is to support the careers of underexposed artists with a devotion to process and conceptual advancement.
The Bell Gallery is located in the List Art Center, on the Brown University campus and is open to the public. You will find all manner of modern art in this sparse white space. In one month you could see an exhibit by three artists working with photography and texts, an installation about a vanished Russian cosmonaut and photographs depicting a futuristic society of bog-dwellers. All events at the Bell Gallery are free. Include this gallery in a walking tour of the campus.
Studio Hop
With a carefully curated selection of fine arts and crafts, this little boutique will have you jumping with joy. On offer are arty home decor pieces, fine vintage jewelry, artwork and unique furniture. The store sources from a number of local and national artists and has a good variety to suit all tastes. A great little place to go shopping for gifts.
