Gallery Vetro is an art gallery featuring art glass and other media - the work of over 100 artists from the USA, Canada, and Europe - including some local area artists. Our art ranges from original pieces by renowned glass masters...to the work of talented emerging artists. You'll see unique sculptural pieces, functional pieces (vases, bowls, and stemware) - collectibles (paperweights and ornaments, etc) - gift items (office and home decor items, etc), "lifestyle trappings" (such as candles, scents, barware, stemware), FINE ART, our wide-ranging selection of handmade art-to-wear JEWELRY - the work of about 30 contemporary jewelry artists and designers. Gallery Vetro also specializes in hand-made art glass LIGHTING (chandeliers, table lamps, sconces, and pendants). We also offer meticulous free gift wrap - please allow us time to do a great job. Note - OUR HOURS: Open 6 days from 11:15 (this page doesn't allow quarter-hour time frames) to 7:00 pm, but we are very much in tune with the pulse of the street, so you may catch us open well beyond normal closing time when the street is active. Though our Sunday hours shows "closed", we're actually open more often than closed - but the hours do vary. The Majestic Theater is our good neighbor on Houston Street, so we are open for all matinee and evening Majestic Theater performances on all days of the week.
Come by the Starving Artist Art Gallery to feast your eyes on some truly artistic items, that you'll be amazed to see what two human hands can create. Rare porcelain china, ornate jewelry, and other handcrafted items are all on display. If you look closely, you can see several minute, distinct forms of flowers and figurines etched into certain pieces. A visit to this gallery is a must if you're a lover of art.
The UTSA Main Gallery hosts exhibitions that feature artwork created by the university's students and faculty, alongside juried exhibitions as well. The gallery is located in the Art Building of the Main 1604 Campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio, and is a must see for those who enjoy discovering new artists. The artwork displayed at the university's Main Gallery often presents a fresh, new perspective on the world, created by a new generation of artists at the very beginning of their careers.
