Established in 1979, Alcuin Books is a book store specializing in providing a comprehensive collection of scholarly, rare and antiquarian books based on all aspects of the humanities and western history. Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., the firm offers scholarly and rare books with an emphasis in fine, rare and special printings of limited editions in an array of subject interests. Additionally, it provides an online inventory carrying more than 7000 items. Alcuin Books also assist customers in locating their items of interest through phone or e-mail inquiries. Beyond Words Bookshop began as an event based pop up bookshop in the East Valley, mainly in East Mesa, Gilbert, and Queen Creek. In July 2025 it opened its doors to the brick and mortar shop in Downtown Mesa tucked in the Greenbelt shops across the street from the Arizona Natural History Museum and next door to Novel Ice Cream. BWB specializes in positive books that add value to your life. BWB holds a weekly story time for infants through preschool with a visiting author once a month. Monthly book club began in 2026. You can purchase the book club pick and meet at a local Downtown Mesa establishment each month and join in a great discussion.
