North Atlantic Books is an educational nonprofit based in the unceded Ohlone land Huichin (aka Berkeley, CA), that collaborates with partners to develop cross-cultural perspectives; nurture holistic views of art, science, the humanities, and healing; and seed personal and global transformation by publishing work on the relationship of body, spirit, and nature.

Berkeley's famous independent bookstores tend to occupy the most unlikely of places, and Pegasus, in the former home of a car dealership, is no exception. Being an expansive, former showroom, it lets you browse the selections with lots of air and light at your back. Find a broad range from bestsellers to the classics, from the obscure to the out of print. It boasts a huge selection of overstocked, discounted titles, as well as an ever-growing used section. There is a huge magazine and newspaper rack with many international journals, as well as CDs, gift cards, and bags.
Book Passage has served the Bay Area for more than 30 years, providing the community with an array of author events, writing and language classes, and highly-respected, annual conferences. A New York Times-reporting bookstore, we offer a wide variety of books ranging from children's literature to travel guides, from top-selling fiction to mystery novels, and we continue to work diligently with community and nonprofit organizations. Book Passage has two stores, one in Corte Madera and a second in the San Francisco Ferry Building.
