This store houses what is probably the Northwest's largest collection of books on Hinduism. Find volumes on yoga, spiritual practices, meditation, the philosophy of Hinduism, the ancient scriptures and lives of Hindu saints. Vedanta Society Bookshop also sells gifts, posters, incense, statues, jewelry, meditation and music tapes and just about everything connected with this subject. If you're looking for a particular poet, or a particular book of poems, you'll almost certainly find it at this shop. The friendly owners, Christine Deavel and John Marshall are former editors of the literary journal Fine Madness, and they obviously love poetry. The store hosts readings by local authors regularly. Apart from the regular timings, the store is also open on the first Sunday of every month between 12p and 4p.
