At Silk Road in San Rafael, we specialize in the cleaning, repair, restoration, and sale of handmade rugs from around the world. With decades of experience, we care for each rug as if it were our own—whether it’s a silk Persian masterpiece, a bold Turkish kilim, or a cozy wool tribal rug passed down through generations. What makes our business unique is the personal attention we give to every piece and every customer. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we tailor our cleaning and restoration techniques to the specific needs of your rug, using time-honored, hand-washing methods and eco-friendly products to ensure colors stay vibrant and fibers stay strong. We’re more than just a rug care shop—we’re a destination for rug lovers. Our San Rafael showroom features a curated selection of handmade rugs for sale, each chosen for its quality, character, and craftsmanship. Whether you’re decorating a new space, replacing an old favorite, or searching for something one-of-a-kind, we’ll help you find the perfect piece to match your style and space. What really sets us apart is our passion. We’re not just in the business of rugs—we’re in the business of preserving stories, traditions, and artistry. Our team brings a deep knowledge of global rug-weaving cultures and a dedication to doing things the right way, not the rushed way. Customers come to us for our expertise, but stay for the trust, honesty, and care we offer with every service.
