This clothing outfitter takes its name from the Sanskrit word for 'vitality' or 'life energy' and this flagship store founded by one of pioneers of the Certified Fair-Trade apparel movement embodies it. Most of the fabrics are picked to eschew as much as possible any pesticides or chemicals and though the price tag is high, the products are remarkably durable. Not only do they scrutinize the fabrics before sale, the shop tries to ensure that its finished products have left as minimal a trace as possible during the manufacturing process.
