When we began our business in the Spring of 1985, Finials was a lamp shop selling a wide variety of lamps for the home and offering a large selection of replacement lampshades. After two years, we had the opportunity to purchase our present location. It had been a Scandinavian gift shop for a number of years. As we moved into the new location and after extensive remodeling and decorating, we fell more in love with our Swedish heritage. So, we decided to try something very unusual and combined the two businesses. Over the years, we have added on to the property yet with a concern to keep the charm of the original building. Presently, our 13 room ?little red stuga? is filled with a wide variety of Scandinavian gifts. We shop various markets each year as well as going to Scandinavia in order to offer the best selection possible. Now you will see beautiful handcrafted wooden pieces to the very simple smr (butter) knives - from the fine hand blown Orrefors crystal to the replacement glass for the Danish iron candle holders. We carry T-shirts to hand woven sweaters and so much more. Oh yes, we still carry over 2000 lampshades, carry a beautiful collection of lamps and continue to do lamp repair as well as create a custom lamp for you.
