In 1974, former welder and overall carpenter, Kerry Martin, changed out his tool belt and started his jewelry training at Delgado Community College in Louisiana. At Delgado, Kerry completed courses in Photography, Painting, Jewelry Making, Hand Engraving and Stone Setting. He furthered his knowledge, by completing the Diamond, Colored Stone and Advanced Stone Setting courses from the Gemological Institute of America. Kerry evolved his knowledge and worked with many prestigious jewelry stores including Boudreauxs Fine Jewelers in South Louisiana. An opportunity arose in Picayune, MS when a previous jewelry store was closing down their business, Kerry then had the opportunity to serve his local community as their jeweler. Martins Jewelers has been family owned and operated in Picayune, MS since 2003.
