Howell Tree Farm was established in 1970, it is locally owned by the Howell family. We are open for Christmas trees Saturday before Thanksgiving until December 23 every year. Opening Day hours are 7 am to 5 pm, and regular hours after opening day during the season are 9 am to 5 pm daily. The Tree Spade Service is by appointment for those larger trees you want moved or planted, no reason to wait with a small tree, they can move a tree up to 8" diameter trunk. The Christmas Tree Farm is perfect for the family who wants to pick their own tree. They will cut it and tie it to your vehicle at no extra charge. With over 50 acres of evergreens they have a variety of Christmas trees to choose from; Beautiful Firs, White Pine and limited Scotch Pine. Located only 20 minutes from Des Moines and in a beautiful park-like setting.
