Located in one of the older building in Kaimuki, this simple eatery has an open, airy feel and a menu that is light and flavorful. The restaurant has an abundance of natural light with modest views of Kaimuki Park across the street. The interior is simple and comfortable but not fancy. Area residents make up the majority of the customers at this small café. They come for pho, a flavorful noodle soup with a rich broth and many fresh toppings like bean sprouts, basil and peppers. The restaurant also has very tasty spring rolls, beef salad and a yummy clay pot catfish dish. Plenty of free parking is available.

The original Sunny Side, located on Kilani Ave across the street from the court house and a block or so up past the hospital. Previously located at the old bus station way back when. Stop by to dine in or take out breakfast and lunch. The fried rice special and loco mocos are customer favorites for breakfast. Chicken cutlet and hamburger steak plate lunches are classic favorites for lunch. Newer faves are tonkatsu and pork chops. Be sure not to forget our pies: chocolate cream, blueberry cream, apple, pear & peach combination, and chocolate haupia are baked daily. Double crust banana pies are available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Order ahead of time to hold your pie order, just in case we sell out.
