This technique creates digital images, allowing all of the advantages of digital photos. Instead of using old-fashioned film, digital X-rays employ digital sensors which require only minutes in our office to develop and makes the X-ray process more convenient for the patient. These X-rays can then be archived, enlarged, enhanced, or manipulated.Marietta Rheumatology Associates offers osteopenia/osteoporosis testing, known as a bone density scan. A bone density scan can give your physician a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis before you break any bones, or indicates whether you are at risk for either condition. A bone density scan allows patients to find out if they have the early signs of bone loss and take steps to prevent further loss.Bone density scan is fast, easy, and painless. The test takes only about 15 minutes, during which the patient lies quietly on a comfortable bed on the scanner. This method of osteoporosis testing is very precise, giving an early osteopenia/osteoporosis diagnosis.
