Lumo will change the way we manage freshwater resources. According to the UN 40% of the world will be faced with water scarcity by 2030. 50-70% of freshwater is used by agriculture for irrigation. Current technology to measure and manage water resources is antiquated, the biggest incumbents are analog and manual. We're going to bring software-first solutions to modernize water management. Our first product will simplify water management and water use reporting for grape growers in California. Irrigation is the #1 variable cost for specialty growers, which includes grapes, berries, and nuts. Lumo will drastically reduce these costs by saving water, energy, and labor helping farmers better manage their water resources. We will scale into adjacent verticals like nuts, berries, and marijuana; expand into more geographies; and add additional capabilities like water rights reporting and trading.
