ZMATA is a martial arts training academy primarily focused on the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, known as the gentle art that teaches a smaller person how to defend himself against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique. We offer several different classes for all ages (4 years old and above) with all skill levels (beginner to advanced) teaching the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Best kids program in the Bay Area and known as one of the top kids competition teams in the world. Not only do we provide you with ultimate self defense skills but we also offer Judo, Wresting, and Krav Maga.
We specialize in the Olympic Sports of Taekwondo and Judo. We have developed a number of youth, cadets and junior athletes to California State and US National level competitors. Some of our students became US National Team members during the last few years. For younger kids and beginners we offer "Traditional Martial Arts" training in Taekwondo and Judo. The programs focus on physical and psychological development, discipline, self-control, perseverance and personal integrity. Besides strong physical development, many families find Tornado Traditional Martial Arts training to be instrumental for daily parenting tasks and general parenting direction.

We specialize in self-defense...not sport martial arts. We teach children and adults to defend themselves in real life situations. We have a fun, friendly environment, but make no mistake...we teach the real deal! We are committed to teaching all students how to defend themselves. Shou Shu is a no-nonsense, utilitarian martial art. We show you how to do it! We show you how to apply it! We also tailor the martial art to the individual. Take a free class with everyone else and then come try us out. You will then see why we have been around for SO long!
