We are purveyors of enlightenment through pain. In other words, we take ordinary mortals and help them transform themselves into the best possible version of themself they can through Jiu-Jitsu. We specialize in no-gi jiu-jitsu, as is the 10th Planet way. 10p Ventura is headed by two Eddie Bravo black belts.
Memento Mori Grappling Club is a bit different from other gyms due to their emphasis on more live rolling and positional sparring. They have abandoned the standard Brazilian style warmups and traditional drilling to focus more on a specific conceptual approach to teaching. The gym has a heavy wrestling base as well so students are encouraged to also work on their takedowns and start live rounds from their feet. Leglocks are taught from white belt instead of being gatekept until higher belts, and the culture of the room encourages everyone to help each other! The head coaches are extremely knowledgeable in jiu jitsu, catch wrestling, and judo. The room has many competitors who are actively winning tournaments but also is very beginner friendly to hobbyists who do not have an interest in competing and want to learn grappling for fun!

At Archer Jiu Jitsu, we believe actions speak louder than accolades. Instead of focusing on self-promotion, we want to share what truly drives us—our goals, our culture, and our approach to training. We believe that strong training comes from strong relationships. We aim to create an environment where partners help each other grow, and where learning Jiu Jitsu is both challenging and accessible—never overcomplicated, never watered down. At Archer Jiu Jitsu, we keep things simple and student-focused. • No mandatory branded gi • No color restrictions • No sign-up fees • Open to everyone—from young kids (5+) to weekend warriors to aspiring competitors We also fully support cross-training. We encourage you to explore techniques and perspectives from other academies—whether local, national, or international. If you bring something back that helps the team grow, everyone benefits. That’s the spirit of learning. We love Jiu Jitsu—for its mental, physical, and emotional benefits. It teaches us to stay calm under pressure and to solve problems with clarity and patience. Training with others who share that mindset is what we’re all about. If this philosophy resonates with you, come try a class—on us. It’s the best way to see if we’re the right fit.
