Family owned and operated since 1952. The original meat market opened in 1952 by Ray and Mary Knight still hand cuts all the proteins for all three restaurants. We are Ann Arbor's original (and ONLY community-owned!) natural foods grocery. In addition to your favorite national brands like Amy's, Muir Glen, and Newman's Own, the People's Food Co-op offers an array of organic and conventional, as well as locally grown produce, rGBH-free milk and cheese, local free-range eggs, bulk foods of every description, bulk herbs and spices, and fair trade coffee, tea, and chocolate. We have a grab and go deli and hot bar/salad bar full of fresh and healthy foods all made from scratch in-house. Our Cafe Verde is Ann Arbor's only fair trade cafe. All of our coffee and tea served is fair trade, most is organic as well. We offer free Wi-Fi and plenty of outdoor seating in the Sculpture Plaza.
