Historic Ghost Walk, Boos and Brews Pub Crawl and Grapes and Ghosts Wine Tour Dahlonega Georgia has a very haunted history, thanks to its gold-mining, Civil War and Trail of Tears past, as well as its geology. Sightings of Civil War soldiers playing cards in Mount Hope Cemetery, a ghostly little girl in a long white dress who plays in room in the Historic District, ghosts who rattle dishes in restaurants on the Public Square, chairs and chess pieces being moved when no one was there. The stories go on and on and are corroborated by town residents. Tours take guests on an eerie and intriguing journey full on local tales and legends. We continuously study Dahlonega's history and work with paranormal researchers using thermal cameras and other equipment to document sightings. * Ghost tours are approximately 1.3 miles and begin at 19 East Main Street on the upstairs porch. Decatur was already a bustling little town when its nearby neighbor Atlanta was founded. Take a walking tour of the quaint historic downtown and hear stories of former residents who aren't ready to say goodbye to Decatur just yet. Even the city's majestic focal point—the historic courthouse—is haunted. At the restored train depot, now a restaurant, the cries of wounded Civil War soldiers can sometimes be heard. A visit to the historic cemetery is likely to produce paranormal experiences, and visitors are encouraged to take photos in the hopes of catching evidence on film. Decatur Ghost Tours also organizes ghost hunts for intrepid souls.
