Shanghaied In Portland travels via MAX public transport (ticket included) from Pioneer Courthouse Square to the heart of the original downtown of Portland. On your tour of our "SinCity" -- between the Southern Pacific rail line running right up S.W. Fourth Avenue and the river -- you'll see some of our oldest buildings, streets with original cobbles, our first public art and a theater building featuring a market you drove your horse and buggy through, as well as Portland's Chinatown, the largest in the country in the 1890's. Plus brothels, saloons, cribs, and more on a tour ending near Saturday Market and the World-famous VooDoo Donuts. A walking tour of 1895 Portland, considered the most dangerous seaport in the world by the governments of Britain, Germany, France and others. You'll see iron front buildings from the 1870's, walk on cobbled streets, see an 1870's drive-through market, pass innumerable stables, saloons, brothels, and opium dens, all ending near Saturday Market and Voodoo Donuts. Eat Adventures Food Tours combines sightseeing with mouth-watering culinary experiences. Transportation, food, drink, and guide are included in every tour. We strive to give our guests a special, no hassle, fun, local, northwest culinary experience.
The Hawthorne Ghost Tour is a fun, exciting, and educational adventure through the heart of East Portland's old red light district. This is an outdoor walking tour that takes one and a half hours, during which we will walk approximately a mile and a half. We have frequent stops to tell spooky and real-life stories about Portland and the Pacific Northwest, and we attempt to make contact with the hereafter at two separate locations, weather permitting. The tour meets at the SE corner of 37th and SE Hawthorne. We have tours at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. As one of the most popular tours in the Southeast, we do take walk-ups, but we have to limit size to 20 people per tour. We take most major Holidays off.
