The Transportation Division, a part of the Public Works Department, which is administered by the City of Berkeley, provides a range of transportation planning and traffic engineering programs. It offers alternative transportation, pedestrian safety, and parking and bicycle planning programs. The division develops short- and long-term policy recommendation and program implementation to provide safe and efficient transportation environment in Berkeley, Calif. It offers off-street parking, parking meter maintenance, and parking law enforcement and restriction services. The Public Works Department provides solid waste management, recycling, street repair, sanitary sewer planning and sidewalk renovations services.
