- Alabama football DL LT Overton to return to Crimson Tide in 2025. What we know
A key piece of the Alabama football defensive line is returning in 2025.
LT Overton , the 6-foot-5, 283-pound defensive lineman who played Bandit for the Crimson Tide , announced Wednesday he would return to Alabama for another season.
"The journey towards success that has been paved at Alabama by the guys before me is not over," Overton wrote on Instagram.
"I am excited to take on challenges, and I am always looking to provide leadership. I am also committed to working hard to achieve the goals that I share with my teammates.
"As the late Kobe Bryant would say — job's not finished!
"In fact, this is just beginning, 2025 will be a time for action. This is my official announcement — I am returning for my senior year. Roll Tide, Roll!"
Once a five-star centerpiece of Texas A&M 's 2022 recruiting class out of Alpharetta, Georgia, Overton transferred to Alabama after two seasons with the Aggies where he had 48 tackles, one sack and three tackles for loss in 23 games.

Overton transferred to Alabama to play Bandit along with Jah-Marien Latham. In 11 games, Overton led the Crimson Tide with nine quarterback hurries. He also had 35 stops, three tackle, for loss and two sacks along with a pass deflection, fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
Overton had a six-tackle performance against Wisconsin where he had a tackle-for-loss and a sack along with a pass deflection and a forced fumble.
With Overton back, Alabama now has an abundance of riches at the Bandit position.
Alabama added Florida transfer Kelby Collins through the transfer portal along with junior college defensive end Kevonte Henry. Keon Keeley and Jordan Renaud also could return, while Jah-Marien Latham could return for a sixth season of eligibility as well.
For a position that entered the 2025 season as a potential question mark, Alabama has a few more answers now at Bandit.
