- Alabama football lands Rico Scott, 4-star 2024 receiver
Alabama football landed its fifth commitment of the 2024 recruiting class Sunday morning.
Rico Scott, a four-star receiver according to the 247Sports Composite, has committed to the Crimson Tide, he announced on Twitter. He chose Alabama over schools such as Colorado , Georgia, Tennessee , Penn State and Texas A&M after visiting Alabama this weekend.
Scott is a 6-foot, 185-pound prospect who attends Bishop McDevitt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 55 receiver in the 2024 class and the No. 11 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

Offensive line coach Eric Wolford is listed as Scott's primary recruiter, and assistant head coach of offense/wide receivers Holmon Wiggins is the secondary recruiter.
Scott joins five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, five-star athlete Jaylen Mbakwe, four-star receiver Perry Thompson and four-star edge Sterling Dixon in the 2024 class of commits.
Prior to the addition of Scott, Alabama held the No. 19 spot in the 2024 recruiting team rankings with four commitments. Despite only having five commitments, Alabama has as many five-stars as Ohio State (which has 12 commitments and sits No. 2 in the rankings as of Sunday). Georgia holds the top spot with 12 commitments and three five-star prospects. More commitments are expected to be added to the Alabama class in the coming months, similar to last season when Alabama finished with the No. 1 ranking, so plenty still has to play out before the rankings solidify.
