- Alabama football RB Jam Miller makes decision on early NFL draft entry
Alabama football running back Jam Miller intends to return to the Crimson Tide as a senior next fall rather than enter the 2025 NFL draft as an underclassman, he said to assembled reporters following Thursday's practice in preparation for the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Michigan .
Miller was second on the team in rushing in 2024, behind QB Jalen Milroe , with 641 yards at 4.7 per carry. His return anchors the Crimson Tide 's running back room in the wake of Alabama 's No. 2 running back, Justice Haynes , choosing to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Miller has been projected as a mid- to late-round draft choice for 2025, so another season at the college level will give him a chance to show NFL scouts more. He carried a career-high 28 times in Alabama's 28-14 win over Auburn last month.
With Haynes gone, Miller figures to share the bowl backfield with Richard Young , who will elevate from the No. 3 role. The Crimson Tide will face the Wolverines Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. in the ReliaQuest Bowl, at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium.
