SEATTLE — With the Akron Zips men's basketball team coming off a third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past four years, what will the roster look like next season ?
Barring players leaving through the transfer portal, which opens Monday, the Zips are positioned to have a significant amount of continuity in 2025-26. The situation should give Akron coach John Groce an optimistic outlook moving forward because the Zips just completed a season in which they set a program record with 28 victories and won the Mid-American Conference Tournament .

Thirteenth-seeded Akron's season ended Friday with a 93-65 loss to No. 4 Arizona in a first-round March Madness game in the East Region at Climate Pledge Arena. Akron could return all but three players from its 2024-25 team, including three starters and seven of the nine players who were in the Zips' regular rotation.
