- Who is in Alabama football 2026 recruiting board? Where Crimson Tide stands at start of May
The Alabama football recruiting season is well underway in the 2026 class.
Crimson Tide coaches are criss-crossing the country, looking to add pieces to Alabama 's five-man recruiting class of Georgia five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds . Gadsden four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson , Georgia four-star defensive end Jamarion Matthews , Georgia four-star offensive lineman Chris Booker and Muscle Shoals four-star defensive end Kamhariyan Johnson .
Who could be the next commitment in the Crimson Tide 's 2026 recruiting class? Here's a look at where Alabama stands heading into May.
Committed:None
Targets:N/A
Alabama football doesn't have a desperate need for a quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, with Ty Simpson , Austin Mack and Keelon Russell each carrying at least one season of eligibility after the 2025 season. For a 2026 signal caller, there doesn't seem to be a clear path to significant playing time. Alabama is trying to secure one, bringing in New Jersey four-star Derek Zammit in for an A-Day visit prior to his commitment to Washington . But it may be hard to secure through the high school ranks.

Targets:Jackson four star Ezavier Crowell, Georgia four star Jonaz Walton
Alabama may not have a running back committed. But its top target is clear: reclassified Jackson four-star Ezavier Crowell , who is the state's highest-ranked running back since 2014 and who grew up a Crimson Tide fan. But with multiple spots potentially open with Jam Miller and Dre Washington finishing their collegiate eligibility in 2025, Alabama could be in the market for multiple running backs. Georgia four-star Jonaz Walton could be a potential target to pair with Crowell.

Targets:Alexander City five star Cederian Morgan, Florida four star Somourian Wingo, California four star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Birmingham four star Corey Barber
Much like Alabama's running backs outlook in 2026, the Crimson Tide has its sights set on one prominent in-state receiver: five-star Cederian Morgan, the highest-rated receiver in Alabama since Ryan Williams in 2024 who has a decision date set for June 19-22, the final swing before his July 2 commitment date. The Crimson Tide will also reportedly host Florida four-star Somourian Wingo and California four-star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt for official visits to try and build a class bigger than the two-receiver 2025 group. Birmingham four-star Corey Barber also remains available.

Targets: Illinois four star Mack Sutter, Georgia five star Kaiden Prothro, Georgia four star Xavier Tiller
Alabama had a depth problem at tight end coming out of its 2025 spring practice, one it solved with two transfer additions. That depth problem won't be as much of an issue heading into 2026, with Marshall Pritchett and Kaleb Edwards heading into Year 2, Jay Lindsey and Jack Sammarco returning and Danny Lewis Jr. as the expected elder statesman. One or two more 2026 tight ends could secure a comfortable depth with a commitment from a player like Illinois four star Mack Sutter, who recently hosted Alabama tight ends coach Bryan Ellis for a visit. Sutter seems like the frontrunner, especially after On3 reported April 30 California five star Mark Bowman would not take his scheduled official visit with Alabama.
Committed:Georgia four-star Chris Booker
Targets: Colorado four-star Deacon Schmitt, Georgia tackle Wilson Zierer California four-star Sam Utu, Florida four-star Micah Smith, Florida four-star G'nivre Carr, North Carolina four-star Ekene Ogboko and Georgia three-star Zykie Helton
Alabama has already started to build its 2026 offensive line with a commitment from Booker. The rest of the class seems up in the air. Two offensive line prospects, Colorado four-star guard Deacon Schmitt and Georgia tackle Wilson Zierer, have official visits scheduled, per 247Sports. Many others have Alabama as a contenders. Expect Alabama's offensive line recruiting board to look much cleaner heading into the summer months for a line that could lose four of five starting spots heading into 2026.
Committed:Georgia four-star Jamarion Matthews, Muscle Shoals four-star Kamhariyan Johnson
Alabama has already started to build its 2026 defensive line from the outside in with Matthews and Johnson each committing as bandit defensive ends. The youth movement project will continue inside as the Crimson Tide will try and replenish its defensive tackle spot with multiple players in the 2026 class, a board that continued to grow in late April.

Alabama remains relatively young at linebacker, especially in the middle with the three-man class of Luke Metz, Abduall Sanders Jr. and Duke Johnson in 2025. Out at the wolf outside linebacker spot, Alabama could also return as many as four players in 2026: Qua Russaw , Noah Carter, Yhonzae Pierre and Justin Hill. There is talent still to be had in 2026, even if the class may not be as large as 2025.
Committed:Georgia five-star Jorden Edmonds, Gadsden four-star Zyan Gibson
Targets:California five-star Brandon Arrington, Ohio four-star Elbert Hill
Alabama's biggest 2026 splash comes in the form of Edmonds and Gibson. With Zabien Brown projected to return in 2026, and the rise of players like Chuck McDonald and Dijon Lee in the 2025 recruiting class, Alabama could be in the market for one more corner to add, with California five-star Brandon Arrington, who has Alabama in his top five before his July 5 decision date, at the top of the list.

Targets: Nevada five star Jett Washington, Maryland five-star Jireh Edwards
Depending on the status of Keon Sabb , Bray Hubbard and Zavier Mincey heading into 2026, safety could end up being a major need for Alabama in its next recruiting class. And the Crimson Tide have started with its sights set high with a pair of five stars in Nevada's Jett Washington and Maryland's Jireh Edwards.
