- Alabama football flips 2026 3-star DL from Georgia commitment. What to know
Alabama football has added another member to its 2026 recruiting class via flip.
Corey Howard, a three-star defensive lineman from Valdosta, Georgia , told Rivals that he would flip his commitment to the Crimson Tide from Georgia, the program he committed to in June.

Howard attended Alabama football's 37-20 win against Tennessee Saturday, Oct. 18 in Tuscaloosa.
Howard is listed as the No. 695 player and the No. 84 defensive lineman in the 2026 class per 247Sports' composite rankings.
Howard followed Georgia offensive lineman Jared Doughty , who ended an extensive streak without an Alabama commit in its 2026 class Oct. 5.
Howard is one of a handful of flips Alabama has secured in 2026 along with linebacker Xavier Griffin, quarterback Jett Thomalla , running back Javari Barnett, offensive lineman Bear Fretwell and defensive back Rihyael Kelley.
What Corey Howard commitment means for Alabama football
Howard gives Alabama further depth in a reinvigorated defensive line room. He is one of five members of the room along with an expected edge rusher in Jamarion Matthews, expected interior options in Kamhariyan Johnson and JJ Finch and a utility option in four-star Nolan Wilson . Griffin also could be an option at Bandit defensive end or Wolf linebacker.

Howard stands at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds. Per MaxPreps, he has 36 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks.
Howard is another example of Alabama dominating the state of Georgia in recruiting. He is the 7th Georgia commit in the 2026 cycle along with offensive lineman Chris Booker, Matthews, defensive back Jorden Edmonds, Griffin, Fretwell and Doughty.
