Arch Manning appears in Uber Waymo feature video with Cooper and Archie Manning
Texas starting quarterback Arch Manning has expanded his brand in a new social media marketing video for Uber. The announcement comes as Manning continues to step into the public eye on social media following his redshirt freshman season.
Uber shared the news Tuesday, unveiling a promotional video featuring Manning, his father, Cooper, and grandfather, Archie, taking a ride in a Waymo—the company’s latest self-driving vehicle.
The video captures the three Mannings seated in the back as the wheel moves automatically."I don't see a driver," Archie quipped, prompting laughter from his son and grandson.
So is Uber a new NIL sponsor for Manning? Josh Newman reports an Uber spokesperson told LoneStarLive.com the company has not entered into an NIL deal with Manning and the social media post was a one-off for a paid fee.
“This isn’t an endorsement deal, he’s not becoming a spokesperson, we’re not sponsoring him, etc.,” the spokesperson told Newman. “As you see in the video, we just launched autonomous rides in Austin and invited the Manning fam to be our first riders. So this really shouldn’t be positioned as a 'commercial.'"
Manning currently holds a $6.5 million NIL valuation, according to On3 NIL Valuation , ranking him No. 1 in the NIL 100—the highest valuation among all college and high school athletes across all sports. Texas former quarterback Quinn Ewers held an NIL valuation of $4.5 million.
Manning is already a Red Bull athlete, he is continuing to build his brand off the field, leveraging his high-profile status as he enters his third season at Texas.
