Best Remaining Prospects For Day 3 Of the 2025 NFL Draft
The final day of the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off at noon EST on Saturday afternoon. It will include rounds 4-7 as well as each team signing undrafted rookies.
The New Orleans Saints have drafted four players so far:
1st: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT (Texas)
2nd: Dylan Shough, QB (Louisville)
3rd: Vernon Broughton, DT (Texas)
3rd: Jonas Sanker , S (Virginia)
Coming into the final day barring trades, New Orleans holds five more selections.
4th Round (#112)
4th Round (#131)
6th Round (#184)
7th Round (#248)
7th Round (#254)
Here are some of the top remaining players on the board to watch for as this year's draft concludes.
Running Back
• Damien Martinez ( Miami , Fla)
• Cam Skattebo (Arizona State)
• Dylan Sampson ( Tennessee )
• Trevor Etienne (Georgia)
• Kalel Mullings (Michigan)
• Ollie Gordon II (Oklahoma State)
• Donovan Edwards (Michigan)
• Quenton Cooley (Liberty)
This is probably the deepest remaining position in the draft. Several of these backs could make an immediate impact for their new teams.
The Saints need a backfield complement to Alvin Kamara , specifically one effective between the tackles. Martinez, Skattebo, Mullings, and Gordon best fit that role. However, Etienne, Sampson, and Edwards also have abilities that would fit well in new coach Kellen Moore's offense.
Wide Receiver
• Isaiah Bond (Texas)
• Nick Nash (San Jose State)
• Elic Ayomanor (Stanford)
• Kaden Prather (Maryland)
• Ja'Corey Brooks (Louisville)
• LaJohntay Webster (Colorado)
• Will Sheppard (Colorado)
• Xavier Restrepo (Miami, Fla)
• Jimmy Horn Jr. (Colorado)
• Isaiah Neyor (Nebraska)
This isn't a great class of wideouts, as we've seen through the first three rounds. However, there's some good remaining value in these later rounds.
The Saints have an explosive trio in Chris Olave , Rashid Shaheed , and Brandin Cooks . But, none of the three are over 6-feet and each are slightly built. New Orleans could use a big-bodied pass catcher like Nash, Prather, or Ayomanor.
Tight End
• Oronde Gadsden II (Syracuse)
• Gavin Bartholomew (Pitt)
• Luke Lachey (Iowa)
• Thomas Fidone (Nebraska)
• Jake Briningstool (Clemson)
Re-signing Juwan Johnson keeps a matchup weapon, but doesn't eliminate the need at this position. Bartholomew and Lachey bring underrated value, but Gadsden is a really intriguing developmental threat with a tremendous ceiling.
Offensive Line
• Jackson Slater, G (Sacramento State)
• Branson Taylor, OT (Pitt)
• Garrett Dellinger, G (LSU)
• Myles Hinton , OT (Michigan)
• Jack Nelson, OT (Wisconsin)
• Tyler Cooper, G ( Minnesota )
The Saints drafted tackle Banks, but still have major questions along their interior. Slater could be a small-school star. Taylor and Hinton could each be better guards and were possible Day 2 picks if not for injuries.
Defensive End/Edge
• Kyle Kennard (South Carolina)
• David Walker (Central Arkansas)
• Tyler Baron ( Miami , Fla)
• Jack Sawyer (Ohio State)
• Que Robinson (Alabama)
It's hard to believe that the Saints haven't addressed an edge position that has a combined 33 sacks in the last two years. Surprisingly, there is some nice talent still available.
Kennard, Walker, Baron, and Sawyer each have rotational skills with upside to develop into a potential starter. New Orleans desperately needs more production and speed at this position.
Linebacker
• Jamon Dumas-Johnson (Kentucky)
• Jay Higgins (Iowa)
• Chris Paul Jr. (Mississippi)
• Danny Stutsman (Oklahoma)
• Eugene Asante (Auburn)
• Smael Mondon (Georgia)
• Jackson Woodard (UNLV)
With new Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley expected to run a 3-4 scheme, there's questionable linebacker depth behind Demario Davis and Pete Werner .
Higgins and Dumas-Johnson are smaller throwbacks who patrol the field well as multi-role linebackers. Paul, Asante, and Mondon are terrific athletes in space off the ball. Stutsman and Woodard are good downhill run defenders.
Defensive Backs
• Cobee Bryant , CB (Kansas)
• Zah Frazier, CB (UTSA)
• Dorian Strong , CB (Virginia Tech)
• Denzel Burke , CB (Ohio State)
• Jaylen Reed , S (Penn State)
• R.J. Mickens, S (Clemson)
• Malachi Moore , S (Alabama)
• Lathan Ransom , S (Ohio State)
• Sebastian Castro , S (Iowa)
New Orleans drafted Virginia safety Jonas Sanker, but may look to add another that has coverage skills and range. Reed and Mickens are the best remaining cover options.
The Saints could also use another corner for depth behind Kool-Aid McKinstry , Alontae Taylor , and Isaac Yiadom . Bryant, Frazier, and Strong are developmental prospects with good natural instincts in coverage.
