CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers have had their core four healthy and intact for the vast majority of this season, but All-Star point guard Darius Garland and starting center Jarrett Allen recently suffered injuries .
Garland sat out Sunday night's 129-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies , but Allen played. Both of them had been listed as questionable for the game.
The good news for the Cavs (47-10) is they don't expect Garland to be sidelined for long. After the Cavs extended their winning streak to seven games by beating the Grizzlies (37-20), coach Kenny Atkinson said Garland is expected to return soon, perhaps even as soon as Cleveland's next game Tuesday night at the Orlando Magic .
"My amateur opinion is this is probably one [game without Garland]," Atkinson said. "It's not going to be long term. I think I'd anticipate him being ready very, very soon. I'm not going to guarantee next game, but I'd say trending that way."
Allen logged 31 minutes against the Grizzlies and compiled 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal. He wore equipment on his right hand to support the injured finger.
