Chargers sign former Bengals running back Trayveon Williams to practice squad, per reports

The Los Angeles Chargers signed former Cincinnati Bengals running back Trayveon Williams to their practice squad, according to multiple reports.

Williams, the Bengals' sixth-round pick (182nd overall) in 2019, has been signed and released by the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns since becoming a free agent at the end of the 2024 season.

Williams played in 68 games over six seasons with the Bengals, including 34 games over the past two seasons.

In 2023, Williams had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards for Cincinnati, and seven catches for 10 receiving yards.

Williams took over as the Bengals' primary kick returner in Week 10 of the 2022 season, when Chris Evans was injured.

In college, Williams and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow starred in a legendary LSU-Texas A&M game in 2018, won  74-72  by the Aggies.
