Colts downgrade wide receiver from questionable to out vs. Falcons
The Indianapolis Colts announced that wide receiver Anthony Gould has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 10 game against the Atlanta Falcons .
Gould was originally listed as questionable on the Friday injury report due to a knee injury.
Gould suffered the injury in the Colts ' Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans . He missed last week's game in Pittsburgh and is yet to return to practice.
This season, Gould has taken over as the Colts' primary return man on special teams. On 26 kick return attempts, he's averaging 26.6 yards per return, while averaging 9.7 yards per punt return on seven attempts, per PFF .
Compared to the rest of the NFL, Gould ranks 19th in average yards per kick return and 19th in yards per punt return.
As a slot receiver, Gould's role on offense has been small, with him behind Josh Downs on the depth chart. However, in the game that Downs missed due to injury, Gould did play 39 snaps, catching one pass for three yards.
Last week, with Gould sidelined, Ameer Abdullah stepped in on kick returns next to Ashton Dulin , while Downs handled punt return duties.
