Then, the game was suspended due to a severe thunderstorm. As a result, the game was stalled in the 3rd quarter with the Eagles leading 24-20.
Before that, history was made between both teams, per Dante Koplowitz-Fleming of NFL.com. Ultimately, this marked the first NFL opener in which both teams scored 20+ points in the first half.
The Eagles are beginning their season as the defending Super Bowl champions. Indeed, the pressure is being brought to bear on QB Jalen Hurts to sustain his excellence and for RB Saquon Barkley to remain on top of his game. As for the Cowboys, they are trying to start the season on a positive note for obvious reasons.
They are coming off the trading of Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers , the loss of a real generational talent. As a result, they are trying to cultivate a new identity.
