NEW YORK —The Pittsburgh Penguins not only won a game, not only shut out their former coach and division rival, but also impressed a fan base. Penguins fans were over the moon with the performance Tuesday in the win over the New York Rangers , and we've got the inside reaction as well as our in-depth analysis, including the rookie show.
Elsewhere in the Daily, the NHL trade chatter is hot in Philly. The Florida Panthers raised the next banner but lost another player ( Evan Rodrigues ) to injury. Nathan MacKinnon set an Avalanche record, the LA Kings pulled a surprise reveal of their third jerseys, and Pittsburgh-boy-made-good Logan Cooley said no thanks to $77 million.
My final New York tally: Three slices. One steak. One shopping spree at the original Macy's when my platinum coupon worked on the 40% off name-brand stuff (three pairs of much-needed jeans and two Tommy Hilfiger quarter-zip pullovers for practice that were silly cheap with the coupon), one actress rejection, a half dozen of extraordinary macarons from a French bakery to gift to colleagues, and one absolutely ridiculous, amazing honey and buttermilk biscuit with everything seasoning.
It's not the rent that I can't afford in Manhattan (OK, it's also the rent), it's the amount of food I would eat.
Oh, and add one interesting character who didn't care that I was shooting the postgame video outside of MSG, and after tipping over one garbage can, casually walked right behind me and started talking to the wind. That fun starts at 8:17 in the video. I left it in so you can see "behind the scenes."
I will do a Live Chat today from the car, but I won't be able to take questions live. I'll need you to submit questions in the replies, then I'll answer! Obviously, I can't be reading questions while driving, eh?
Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel. This is a go and keep up sort of situation. Here's the link to the Live Chat to begin submitting questions .
