The Detroit Tigers have set their 2025 Opening Day roster, finalizing the list of 26 players expected to be active for Thursday's opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
The final roster decisions were made Wednesday.

The moves won't become official until Thursday morning.
Four injuries in spring training impacted the construction of the Opening Day roster, as outfielders Parker Meadows , Matt Vierling and Wenceel Pérez and right-hander Alex Cobb will open the season on the injured list.
"It's been challenging, but it's the job," Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris said Wednesday afternoon. "We don't expect anyone to feel sorry for us."

The Tigers are counting on Ryan Kreidler to be their primary center fielder without Meadows, Vierling and Pérez available, even though Kreidler has just three innings in center field throughout his 72-game MLB career.

"We've been really focused on internal solutions," Harris said, referencing the plan in response to the injuries in the outfield. "We found Ryan Kreidler to be the best solution we could find. Anything on the trade front has not been all that fruitful right now."
The 2025 season begins 7:10 p.m. Thursday against the Dodgers.
"The next job is go beat the Dodgers tomorrow," Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday afternoon. "That's our mindset down here in the clubhouse. If you had written a lineup on Day 1 versus the end of spring, is it different? Yeah, of course it is. We had some injuries. Does it change the goal? Not all."
