Dre Greenlaw's suspension is over, now the Broncos have to make a roster decision
Dre Greenlaw 's suspension has ended, and the Denver Broncos now have a decision to make.
The NFL gave the Broncos a one-day roster exemption for Greenlaw when his suspension concluded on Monday. That exemption ends today (Tuesday), so Denver will need to make a corresponding roster move to make room for the linebacker to return to the active roster.
One potential move would be bumping quarterback Sam Ehlinger back down to the practice squad. Ehlinger has already bounced between the 53-man roster and 17-player practice squad four times this season.
Another possible scenario would be cutting a bottom-of-the-roster player or placing somebody on injured reserve . KUSA-TV's Mike Klis tweeted Monday that tight end Nate Adkins has a knee injury that's "looking like it might be significant ." If the Broncos expect Adkins to miss four or more games, he will be a candidate for IR.
Greenlaw, meanwhile, is set to return to the team after the NFL banned him for one week after the league alleged that he " verbally threatened " a referee in Week 7. Greenlaw totaled six tackles in his 2025 debut after missing the first six games of the season with a quad injury. He's listed as a starter on the team's depth chart.
