When a request from Bill Belichick surfaced of him asking his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson , to be copied on his UNC e-mails, many wondered if the 24-year-old had an official role with the Tar Heels.
The Athletic obtained 44 pages of e-mails via an open records request to get a better idea of what exactly Hudson does.
Here's what the outlet discovered through the e-mails.
Hudson is not under contract with UNC nor does she have an employment agreement.
Most of the e-mails were dull, with Hudson's focus primarily being on social media and how things are depicted.
Prior to the hire being official, Hudson expressed concerned about Belichick hiring his son, Steve Belichick, to be the Tar Heels defensive coordinator.
"He should be depicted and represented as his own established, credible entity as opposed to an extension of Bill," Hudson wrote on Dec. 22 . "It can be easily misinterpreted that Steve is simply benefitting from nepotism but that is not the case."
Hudson also added that the school should refrain from calling Steve Belichick, "Bill's son."
In another e-mail, Hudson asked in February if anyone was monitoring the "UNC Football page for slanderous commentary and subsequently deleting it / blocking users that are harassing BB in the comments?"
Belichick replied that he "couldn't believe that UNC would support my being called a 'predator.'" However, the school did not find any comment referring to the 72-year-old as such, but noted "UNC would never support" those kinds of comments.
Hudson's e-mail signature reads "chief operating officer of Belichick Productions." The Athletic did not find Belichick Productions as a registered business.
